A multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus and two cars was responsible for injuring seven people Tuesday afternoon. According to an article released by The Times Herald, the accident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Burnside Avenue and West Marshall Street in West Norriton, Pennsylvania.
Police reports indicate that a blue car, traveling west on West Marshall Street, failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and struck the bus that had the right of way. This collision caused the bus, which was heading north on Burnside, to veer into oncoming traffic and hit a southbound vehicle head-on.
A spokesman for the West Norriton Police Department, Det. Sgt. Michael McGettigan, stated that five children who were aboard the bus suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Two passengers in the blue car also suffered injuries that required hospitalization.
Investigators say that they are still looking into the cause of the crash and ask that anyone who may have witnessed the accident or that has information regarding the accident to contact the West Norriton Police Department immediately.
The Philadelphia Personal Injury Lawyers with Lundy Law know that a common reason for Pennsylvania Car Accidents that result from running stop signs is distracted driving. That’s why the firm asks that motorists eliminate all distractions, including stereos and hand-held electronic devices, before hitting the road.
