MEDIA ALERT: Dorney Park is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Lundy Law Library Express project of the Lundy Law Foundation. Lundy Law Foundation has partnered with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to create the Lundy Law Library Express. To support this amazing program to help bring normalcy to these children, Dorney Park will act as a book drop location for NEW books for children ages 2-17 to be donated to this program. For each new book brought to the park from July 9-31, guests will receive a discount coupon valid for this seasonDORNEY PARK, Allentown, PA (July 9, 2012): Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom is proud to support the Lundy Law Library Express, a program partnering Lundy Law and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) with the common goal to provide comfort and some normalcy to young patients restricted to their rooms while undergoing treatment. The Lundy Law Library Express will help entertain and educate children who are being treated at the hospital and are unable to go to the CHOP library.
Studies show that there is a positive correlation between wellness and the availability of books to entertain and educate patients. The same studies have shown that books provide a clinician with a greater and more natural ability to assess a child’s development and progress. Beginning this summer, Lundy Law and CHOP will be conducting book drives throughout the area to collect NEW books for children age 2-17.
As a family entertainment venue, Dorney Park found supporting this effort a natural fit and will host a book drive to help kick start the program. Guests bringing a NEW book to our Ride Services office from July 9- July 31 will receive a $10.00 discount on a front gate regular admission ticket for each book donated (limit 5 per guest). Discounts may be redeemed through September 3, 2012.
