Find Law (8/1) reports, “Korean automaker Hyundai announced the recall of almost 200,000 Santa Fe SUVs and more than 20,000 Sonata sedans for unrelated airbag issues.” The story goes on to explain that Hyundai is recalling the Santa Fe because of concerns about the occupant sensor, which is supposed to detect when a small child is sitting in the passenger seat and turn off the airbag. The Sonata is being recalled because of concerns that the side airbag may inflate unnecessarily. As the story notes, “consumers are urged to return their vehicles to Hyundai dealers to have these defects addressed.”
