A police officer was hit by a dump truck and killed while trying to help change a tire on Tuesday afternoon, as reported by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The 27-year-old police officer stopped on the side of the road to help a UPS truck on Interstate 70, but instead was killed in a Pennsylvania auto accident.

The police officer got out to help change the tire on the UPS truck and was hit by a dump truck driver who was unable to stop the truck in the Pennsylvania car accident.

The Pennsylvania auto accident victim was part of the South Strabane Police department for five years and was also a volunteer firefighter.
