Four pedestrians were killed and another seriously injured in a Philadelphia Car Accident that occurred yesterday evening. Reports indicate the crash happened at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard, near Rockland Street, in the neighborhood of Feltonville.

A story released by CBS-Philly explained a 28-year-old female victim and her four sons were attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Roosevelt when the 23- and 30-year-old drivers of two vehicles drove through the group.

Both vehicles remained at the scene until emergency crews responded. While the 28-year-old woman died at the scene, the remaining pedestrians were each rushed to nearby hospitals; however, three of the victims died shortly after arrival. The fifth victim was treated and released.

While witnesses say the two vehicles were racing one another, police could only confirm the motorists were driving “aggressively and recklessly”, leading both men to be charged with a number of crimes.

While criminal charges may help hold alleged negligent drivers responsible for their actions, they may not give injured victims, or their families, the resources they need to move on with their lives.
